Dr. Trevor Smith

Much of Trevor’s career has been shaped through his involvement with international standards as a committee expert and chair of ISO committees. Trevor completed over 30 years working with Kodak, a consumer products company, in many international quality related roles. For the last two years he has continued to work with organizations to improve their quality processes and better understand the needs of customers and responsibility to society.  He brings to Green Cricket a strong desire for helping customers understand the often-confusing world of “Green”:  what can be trusted and what should be questioned when making purchasing decisions.  Trevor and his wife Peggy are devoted to finding green alternatives without compromising both quality and effectiveness.

Kate Holloway

Kathryn (Kate) Holloway is a Canadian political activist, journalist, and entrepreneur, best known for her work in the Canadian Green and Ontario Liberal parties, and for her private and public-sector work on climate change, participatory democracy, and free speech.

Holloway has founded, managed or directed several Toronto environmental startups and non-profit associations.  Since 2004 she has been Executive Director of Element Village, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the stimulation, funding and support of sustainable urban cooperative and community projects.

She is a past delegate to the United Nations Environment Programme Sustainable Energy Finance Roundtable in New York, and is a past NGO observer to the 2005 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Montreal. There, she successfully lobbied to ensure that the World Mayors and Municipal Leaders Declaration on Climate Change would include wording protecting women, youth and communities.

Katie Altoft

Katie has been involved with the environmental industry for over 13 years, working in a variety of roles in government, consulting and not-for profit leadership.  As the Director of Education for Earth Rangers, she focused on making environmental issues clear and understandable for all ages, and on motivating people to take action.  Now as a Professor of Environmental Management at Niagara College, Katie teaches post-graduates the hands-on skills they need to be successful in the environmental industry, including how companies source, produce and market their eco-products.

Throughout her career, she has spent a great deal of time working internationally, focusing on environmental management, climate change and development issues, but has more recently turned her thoughts to more local environmental issues, and being a “green mom” to her two young children.   During this time, she has made great efforts to become an educated consumer – both on green and health issues (which are so often closely tied).  She looks forward to sharing this with you through Green Cricket.

David Greene

David Greene is a hyper environmentally-conscious Canadian living in the US.  He has consistently beenan early adopter of actions to live a greener life.  His environmental conscience was heightened during an 18-month sailing voyage around the world with his partner.  Living on a sailboat at sea forces all of the sustainability issues – water production, storage, consumption and conservation, responsible waste management, fuel choices and conservation, and an unbridled respect for nature.  David recently relocated from New York City to Menlo Park, California where he continues to educate and demonstrate through action his commitment to the environment.
